THE ZHERO PROJECT PARTICIPATES IN BIOSPHERA 2.0, THE ENERGY-INDEPENDENT HOUSE ON A HUMAN SCALE, CONSTRUCTED BY ADOPTING THE BEST TECHNOLOGIES AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET.
Within this energy efficient habitation module the energy produced by solar panels is managed by a Zhero system, designed and manufactured by UNE. Thanks to its ability to store and intelligently manage the energy produced, Zhero plays a decisive role in achieving one of the main scientific goals of the initiative: to demonstrate that it is possible to achieve energy independence everywhere, even in very different geographical contexts.
Biosphera 2.0 is a traveling demonstration home that from February 2016 to February 2017 will be exhibited in 6 different locations throughout Italy and Switzerland. Starting from Courmayeur, this living module will be positioned in Aosta (March-April 2016), Milan (May-July 2016), Rimini (July-September 2016), Turin (September 2016-January 2017) and Lugano (January-February 2017).
Twenty-four different inhabitants will live in the module over these 12 months in order to describe their experience in the house of the future. They are students and professionals who will talk about their stay through blog posts, photos, and videos available on biosphera2.com.
